Letters
Dear Greg Struggle Editor,
I am writing in regards to your article about Karma To Burn entitled
"Karma To Burn Are Liers And Should Burn In Hell". I don't think the article
was very fair or well written. Mr. Greg I think you should spend some more
time checking your facts before you go around shooting off your mouth.
Karma to Burn had to work very hard to trick Road Runner into signing them.
Their manager had to practice for weeks to sound like the guy from Buzzoven.
He really had to get into character by shooting smack and not bathing.
When he finally was ready to call Roadrunner's A&R guy, he had to sound
totally burnt'yet convey a message of how awesome Karma to Burn is. Now
that's dedication. Then Karma was given a sweet record deal, one that millions
of bands would dream of having. Besides advance money and a phat recording
budget they were aligned with one of the biggest hard rock labels around.
Roadrunner then bullied the band into getting a singer. It's so unfair
to make a band compromise their art like that. I agree that the vocals
on their album really helped the cd to flow but once the album was done
it was time to boot out the singer. You see Karma is so great that, live
they don't need a singer. The way they stand there and master their instruments
is entertainment enough, don't you think? Unlike most bands Karma got to
tour Europe, showcasing their abilities for all those appreciative foreigners.
But in their infinite wisdom, they refused to compromise with the label
and followed in the mighty footsteps of their good friends Buzzoven and
got dropped. I cried that day, but with tears of joy, because I knew other
labels would be hungry for Karma To Burn's hardwork ethic. Being the business
genius' that they are Karma To Burn moved to Baltimore(a beautiful blue
collar city that clings to down and out musicians). Here they found the
appreciation they deserve and began writing tunes resembling my favorite
band AC/DC; and slept on the floor above a cool club. This is not the end
of their triumphant story, as I had predicted many labels have been contacting
them to sign. But Karma is being a bit pickier; this time they aren't going
to go with a label that offers a good reputation, money, and publicity.
Instead they are searching out labels that have no clout, no budgets, no
quality bands, and no clue. This way they can get the attention they truly
deserve and have worked so hard for. I will continue to support Karma To
Burn no matter what town they catch a free train to
and move in. I don't care what artists they diss and then later try
to align themselves with. I love Karma To Burn and fuck you Greg, your
just a jealous, nontalented, egotistical asshole!

EDITOR'S NOTE: Believe it or not, this is a real letter we received
here at Struggle Headquarters. My only response is "I couldn't have
said it better myself". The truth is that I really dig Karma to Burn,
I just like getting them free publicity in a
non-conventional way. It's a joke have a sense of humor..........
